RECENT DELIVERIES

School Supplies Benefit

In August, 18 boxes of school supplies were sent, containing notebooks, pencils, colors, pencil sharpeners, erasers, rulers, scissors, glue sticks and folders. Each box with a total of 15 kits to be assembled by our partner organizations, which would disperse the donations to children and adolescents. The boxes were distributed as follows: 2 Falcón, 9 Zulia, 3 Tachira and 4 Barinas. In total we were able to deliver 270 school kits, aimed mainly at children from the most vulnerable families.

170 million students in Latin America and the Caribbean face a learning crisis.
 
The education crisis faced by Latin America and the Caribbean ranks the region second worst in the world, according to the World Bank. One out of every five sixth grade students in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) «does not reach the minimum level of reading comprehension»; it is estimated that they could have fallen back more than 10 years in this area. LAC students experienced some of the longest school closures in the world, making the already existing learning crisis worse. World Bank Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean Carlos Felipe Jaramillo told UNICEF that «Latin America and the Caribbean face an unprecedented education crisis that could jeopardize the future development of our countries.
 

Sevigne Rios joined the marketing team on August 10th of this year as marketing assistant. She currently collaborates with the marketing management and the team in administrative and operational tasks. She is part of the Communications department and is responsible for monitoring the calendar’s publication, and also collaborates in the administration of the foundation’s social media accounts. She also participates in the creation and distribution of promotional materials, including brochures, flyers and virtual invitations to different events and activities, using different graphic design programs.

Toys for Christmas 2023

The goal is to buy 1500 toys for children, which would be sent to Venezuela and distributed to certain states where we have partner organizations, responsible for distributing the toys through various activities in vulnerable communities.
